The THINgloss® story

After being referred to as “chubby” by two women at a holiday party, April felt embarrassed and hurt by the comment. She began taking diet pills but wondered if there was another way to curb appetite. Sometime later while driving her car, she stopped at a red light and began to reapplying lip gloss in the rear view mirror. That’s when she had the “Aha Moment” for THINgloss®. She wondered if there was a smell or herb that could be combined with lip gloss to help curb appetite. After several years of research and development THINgloss® was launched.

This is April Morris’ Story

At age 17 I discovered I was pregnant. At age 23, I found myself as a single mom, flat broke and starting over. I moved from Camilla, Georgia to Indianapolis, Indiana to start a brand new life for me and my kids (ages 5 & 6 yrs old at the time). I worked as
a makeup artist at a cosmetic counter in a department store and was quickly promoted to management. Helping women look and feel beautiful is my passion. However, I struggled to make ends meet. My faith pulled me through some really tough times.
Desperate to find relief, I began reading motivational books for inspiration and I felt a fire ignite inside me. I knew I was destined for something greater... but how?

Divine inspiration is how I describe what happened next. I got the idea for THINgloss®. This is what happened. In December 2002, I attended a Christmas party. The host of the party shared with me that two ladies (I had met at the party) referred to me as “chubby”. At first I was angry but that quickly turned to disappointment because I remembered getting ready that night and my clothes were fitting too tight. I immediately began taking diet pills. I wondered if there was another way to curb my appetite. Sometime later I was driving in my car and while sitting at a red light, I began to reapply my lip gloss in the rear view mirror. That’s when the idea came to me. I wondered if there was a smell or herb that could be put in lip gloss that might help curb appetite. I became obsessed with discovering how to develop my idea.

I had a BIG DREAM but no money to get started. How was I going to fund my idea and pay my bills?

My big break came when I began selling real estate. In 2006, I sold 9 million in real estate and won "Sales Person of the Year"! I had a six figure income. I built my dream home and could FINALLY pay my bills!

It all came to a screeching halt in June 2006 after my 15 year old daughter was involved in a severe car accident that claimed her best friend’s life. This served as my wakeup call. I switched my priorities to make God first, my family second and my career third. That’s when I knew it was time to step out in faith and use all my savings to launch THINgloss®.

Since the launch, THINgloss® won “Best Innovation of the Year”, has been seen by millions of TV viewers worldwide and is currently sold in stores across America.

I believe all women deserve to look and feel beautiful. I believe we are all blessed with unique talents. These talents are our gift to the world. My mission is to get a message out that is a call to action for change towards healthy living, to inspire hope over fear
and to shake off setbacks. It’s time to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and get back to work and make new choices. It’s time to create new solutions to restore our health, prosperity, freedom and peace of mind.
